Lernziele

Key elements of the study programme are theories, research methods and national as well as international evaluation practices. Students are taught how to design and implement evaluations in a broad variety of contexts. A case study improves the practical experiences in doing evaluations.

Inhalte

The study programme prepares for scientific and methodologically sound explorations of any kind of evaluation questions. It also delivers skills and insights into the practical work of commissioners and evaluation experts from the beginning of developing evaluation tasks to the end of utilizing the evaluation results. The 'Master (Blended Learning) of Evaluation' conveys key competences for monitoring, quality management, organizational development, project and programme management and opens doors to a broad variety of interesting jobs.

The distance learning programme's scientific directors are Adj. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Meyer (Saarland University) and Prof. Dr. Reinhard Stockmann (Saarland University). The distance learning programme Master (Blended Learning) of Evaluation (MABLE) is taught in cooperation with the the Distance and Independent Studies Center - Technische Universität Kaiserslautern as well as Saarland University's Faculty of Empirical Human Sciences and Economic Science.

Umfang (Dauer)

MABLE has a standard period of study of four semesters (part-time). Mandatory on campus phases take place in the first and third semester for one week in Saarbrücken.

Zielgruppe(n)

The English-language Master's programme is aimed at professionals and executives in the area of evaluation, at professionals who work on evaluation tasks in organisations, administration or ministries and at independent or self-employed consultants.

Sonstige Angaben

MABLE requires student work for at least 1,500 hours. The weekly average is approximately 15 hours. However, due to the blended learning format, the study programme offers flexibility and the opportunity for managing the learning process more individually than in regular study courses.

Teilnahmevoraussetzungen

The application is open to persons with a first degree in a related discipline. In addition, evidence of a relevant professional experience of at least one year after the first degree must be provided.

Interested persons without a first degree have the opportunity to qualify for the programme by taking an aptitude test if they have sufficient relevant professional experience.
